THE FLOWER SHOW TROPHIES ARE READY FOR NEW WINNERS: Mrs. Harley A. Haynes (at the left), chairman of hostesses for the Ann Arbor Citizens' Flower show at Yost Field house this week-end, and Mrs. Everett S. Brown, chairman of judges, discussed the trophies to be awarded tomorrow morning at the show. The cups, from left to right, are: The Kiwanis trophy for school exhibits; the new trophy given by Mrs. Alex Dow for miniature flower arrangements; the Rotary Club cup, for a home garden product; the cup of The Ann Arbor News for the choicest variety of blooms produced by a gardening family; and the Yost cup, for six most perfect blooms. A silver vase has been added as an award by Mrs. R. Bishop Canfield, for the best larger flower arrangement.

Kooperman is president and Barnes is racing secretary of the club that sends its homing pigeons up to 500 miles away and times their arrivals to the home lofts. Tournament Chairman Mrs. Coleman Mummery (from left) hands Mrs. Lloyd Messner more trophies than she can handle at yesterday's awards brunch at Barton Hills Country Club. Mrs. Messner's honors came for winning the Louise Suggs Seniors Tournament and the 18-hole Handicap Tournament. She also was third flight consolation winner. Mrs. Mummery was runner-up in the club championship competition.

DONORS OF POLICE MARKSMANSHIP TROPHY: Justice Jay H. Payne (left) and Prosecutor Albert J. Rapp (right) are shown examining the trophy held by Justice Harry W. Reading, which the three public officials have presented to the Ann Arbor police department to stimulate and award marksmanship. The trophy is a memorial to Patrolman Clifford "Sid" Stang, who was killed in action March 21, 1935, when he interrupted a robbery of the Conlin & Wetherbee men's furnishings store, 118 E. Washington St. One of the two gunmen, William "Shorty" Hayden, later was captured in California, was returned to Ann Arbor just one year and 40 minutes after the shooting and today is serving a life sentence for murder. His accomplice is still sought. The trophy will be awarded to the policeman winning it three consecutive years, each year's winner being determined on the basis of average scores for the various practice shoots held during the summer months.
