SALINE'S NEW RADIO TOWER RISES: Construction of Saline's new radio broadcasting station, near Saline-Ann Arbor and Pleasant Lake Rds., nears completion as the contractor's erectors, (shown above) raise one of two 170-foot towers. Shown, standing between them, is Meredith Bixby, president of the Saline Broadcasting Co. The station will operate from sunrise to sundown on the 1290 kilocycle band, reaching a planned audience of 250,000 listeners. Total cost of the installation will be approximately $40,000.

NEW STATION: This 45x33-foot building (above) at 3001 Brassow Rd., Lodi township, houses radio station WOIA. It begins daily dawn-to-sunset commercial broadcasting Monday on 1290 kilocycles.The building was designed by Walter T. Anicka & Associates of Ann Arbor and houses three offices, a library-storage room, besides studio and control rooms (right) and other facilities. Meredith Bixby is president of the Saline Broadcasting Co. which owns WOIA. It will beam programs to listeners within a 20-mile radius, using two 175-foot antennas and 500 watts of power. The station will be dedicated during a limited broadcast period between 3 to 5 p.m. tomorrow.
