Threshing Oats On The Kearney Farm, September 1935 Photographer: Eck Stanger

Year:
1935
Published In:
Ann Arbor News, September 11, 1935
Caption:
To the white collar boys the above scene may be just one of the early stages of grain-processing but to plain, dirt farmers it is a closeup view of the old fashioned job of threshing oats. Taken on the William H. Kearney farm, six miles east of Ann Arbor near the Pontiac road, it shows a part of the George Zeeb crew of threshers. Reading left to right they are Arthur Zeeb, George Ehnis and William Burke. An oats crop from 19 acres is starting on a long journey which will end in the breakfast bowls of a good many American youngsters.
