ONE WEEK LATER: This is a view of the 800 block of Brookwood Pl. where a furious wind and rainstorm caused extensive damage a week ago yesterday. The ruins of the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karl F. Guthe of 845 Brookwood Pl., which was destroyed after a gas explosion set it afire, are visible between the two fire-scorched houses on the right.

A YEAR'S DIFFERENCE: This is how the spot at 845 Brookwood Pl. appears today a year after the city's "worst" storm. Prof. and Mrs. Guthe sold their house site and final touches are now being applied to a new four-unit apartment house erected there. The Guthes moved to 1407 Ferdon Rd. after their home was destroyed.
