SIGN FOR A SON: A couple of remarkable things happened to Dr. and Mrs. Robert A. Aldrich of 1836 Virnankay Circle. For one thing, Mrs. Aldrich gave birth to the couple's first boy, Robert Alfred Aldrich, and for the second, three neighbors decided to announce that fact to the world via this sign. The neighbors are Robert Hammonds (a professional sign painter), Robert Probst and Warne Holcomb. That's Dr. Aldrich and his two daughters, Jane, 4, and Mimi, 2, on their front porch.
