Fate Undecided: This is the N. Division St. front of Jones Elementary School, which a citizen's committee to study racial distribution in the public schools recommended to the Board of Education be closed for all except kindergarten classes. The school has been declared a "de facto" segregated school on the basis of an enrollment more than 75 per cent Negro. The citizens committee recommended that the students be transported by bus to at least three nonsegregated schools.
