Bring On Your Fires: Equipped with a fire truck of the latest model and one of which few communities of its size can boast, Milan is prepared for almost anything in the way of a fire. The truck, a gift to the village from Henry Ford, was designed and built in the Dearborn laboratories of the Ford Motor Co. Shown with the truck are, left to right: Arlie Squires, village clerk; Lloyd Tooman, member of the council; and Fire Chief J. T. Clark.

SUGAR CAMP IS HEAVEN TO BOYDOM: Eager, happy youngsters may not lighten, but they certainly brighten, the job of sap-gathering and syrup-boiling in the typical sugar bush, according to Harold Murray, Hack Rd. farmer. He is shown above with three Milan boys, gathering sap in the Murray maple grove. Left to right they are: Robert Lenz, Kenneth Puffer and Jack De Vee with Mr. Murray in the right background.

THINKS 'GOOD OLD DAYS' WERE BEST: Miss Phebe Minzey, Milan's oldest resident, will be 97 years of age on Oct. 8, and although she's enjoying herself she goes on record in favor of the "good old days" whenever the opportunity offers. The third of 12 children, she is the only surviving member of her family.
