WON STATE CHAMPIONSHIP: Here is the Dad's Root Beer Girls team of Ann Arbor which recently won the state Class A girls' title in the tournament at Lansing. The "Champs" have a busy week-end ahead playing under the lights at Brighton in a single game tonight starting at 9 o'clock and appearing in a double-header Sunday evening at Adrian. Jean Smith, start pitcher for the team, will report to the All-American Girls' league next season. Front row, (left to right) Geraldine Kern, Louann Brown, Peggy Steiner, Dorothy Cooch, Marjorie Johnston and Mary Moore. Back row, Coach Glenn Schleicher, Verna Zill, Jean Smith, Dorothy Stetier, Joan Stoll, Betty Yahr, Jean Van Schoeten, Virginia Hanselman, Ardeth Hagopian and Rosemary Spencer.
