SHARING KING'S DREAM - An estimated 300 to 500 persons, mostly students and teachers from the Ann Arbor Public Schools, gathered at Liberty Plaza Thursday afternoon for a Unity Parade commemorating the birthday of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. The parade, sponsored by the city's public schools, went west on Liberty Street, then turned south on Main Street and continued to Pioneer High School. Ann Arbor students were given the afternoon off in honor of King's birthday.

GHOULS ON PARADE - A procession of princesses, ghosts, goblins and other assorted characters from Allen School took part in a two-block parade Friday as part of their school's kick-off of the Halloween weekend. Tonight, trick-or-treaters make their rounds through Washtenaw County neighborhoods, hoping to fill their goodie bags - and maybe even catch a glimpse of the Great Pumpkin.
