Wreckage of Train Derailment: Eight of the 12 cars derailed in yesterday's Ann Arbor Railroad train wreck are shown in this picture looking west at a point just north of the Hill St. crossing. The completely overturned tank car and hopper car in back of it were the most damaged. A broken axle caused the mishap about 5:30 yesterday morning as the 82-car freight was leaving for Toledo. Total damage was estimated at $7,000 by railroad officials.

Wreck As Seen From West: Patrolman Walter DeDeula of the Ann Arbor police department explains to a News reporter how one of the tank cars was left on a 45-degree angle after a broken axle caused a $7,000 wreck on the Ann Arbor Railroad yesterday morning. The 82-car freight was bound for Toledo. This view is looking north on the west side of the tracks. One car, partly hidden by trees, was at almost a right angle to the tracks.
