FOUR GENERATIONS - BOTH LINES: Five-months-old David Neil Allen has three great-grandparents and four grandparents in addition to his parents. He is shown in the lap of his paternal great-grandfather, John E. Allen, 80. To Mr. Allen's right (left to the reader) is his son, Floyd J. Allen, and his grandson, the baby's father, F. Neil Allen, 23. To the elder Mr. Allen's left (right to the reader) is the baby's maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Mary Jane McNaughton Watson, 73; Mrs. Watson's daughter, Mrs. Anna Watson Mott, 43; and Mrs. Mott's daughter, Mrs. Doris Mott Allen, 24, the baby's mother. Absent from the picture, because the family wanted to keep strictly to the male line on one side and the female line on the other, are the baby's paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Isabelle Blaisdell Allen; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Louise Pratt Allen; and his maternal grandfather, John Mott. Missing through death is David's great-grandfather on his mother's side, William Watson. The picture was taken at the home of the great-grandparents Allen, at 2960 Saline Rd., where Mr. and Mrs. Allen will observe their 50th wedding anniversary next Sept. 30. Mrs. Watson and the Motts live in Ypsilanti; the Floyd Allens at the Saline Rd. home; and the Neil Allens in Dexter.
