TO WELCOME VISITORS TO MICHIGAN: Here is the Monroe Tourist Lodge, on US-24 near the Ohio state line, which was officially dedicated on Wednesday by Gov. Murray D. Van Wagoner and Highway Commissioner Donald Kennedy. The $35,000 building, which is a hospitality lodge, designed to give tourists an official welcome to the state, stands in a large wooded park. Eventually it will be an island, formed by divided lanes of US-24, the Telegraph road. This is the third one at important entryways into Michigan, one being near New Buffalo on US-12, and another at Menominee on US-41.
