FIRST GIRL STUDENT TO SOLO: Joan B. Hamilton, 20, junior student in the Literary college from Yonkers, Ny Y., is the first of her sex to fly alone after instruction at the Ann Arbor airport under the U.S. Civil Aeronautical Authority. Miss Hamilton was a member of the University Glider club last semester and took up airplane work this term. She also solos in another field: with Bill Gail's dance orchestra. After getting her A. B. degree, she plans to study law.
