Gifts Provide Night Lights: Raymond Girbach (left), president of the Washtenaw County Farm Council, accepts a check for $1,000 from Fred Schmid (center), president of the Ann Arbor Kiwanis Club, as Raymond McCalla, Kiwanis agriculture and conservation committee chairman, smiles his satisfied approval. Behind them are two of six huge night-lighting poles installed last week at the Farm Bureau's Activities Center on the Saline-Ann Arbor Rd., to permit night use of the center's show ring (judges' stand in background). The $2,275 project was financed by the Kiwanis gift, $1,000 from the Farm Council, $100 donated by the Webster Grange and gifts from two county 4-H Clubs. Lights with a combined power of 36,000 watts have been placed on the poles.
