Ann Arbor is going to the dogs. At least this week. Pictured above Mayor Robert C. Campbell is presenting Fred McCann, president of the Detroit Beagle club, with the key to the city. The picture was taken on Geddes Heights where field Beagle trials are being held all this week. Front row, left to right, are James Smith, Saginaw; Mayor Campbell, McCann, Dan Steele and his son and George Eberle, chairman of the field trials. Between Campbell and McCann are Charles Berry of Saginaw and W. Hardy of Lansing. In the extreme background are the two judges, Beryl Bishop of Lansing and E. L. Gray of Indianapolis.

ANN ARBOR HAS BEAGLE CHAMPION: Ann Arbor can now boast of a grand champion beagle. Dan Steele, local dog fancier, recently purchased Penn Panel of Walridge, shown above. Penn Panel's record shows that he has been a winner at shows held in Detroit, Greenwich, Conn., Noble, Penna., Glascow, Del., Devon, Penn., Mr. Kisco, N. Y. without ever meeting defeat. Penn Panel also was judged best of breed in shows at both Toledo and Windsor.
