Casual carefree clothes are the choice of fifth graders, Lori O'Neal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William O'Neal of 1615 Pear Street, and Suzanne Conlin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Conlin Jr. of 2228 Medford. They wage a paddle ball contest in front of the University's Physics-Astronomy Building, with Lori in a plaid butterfly pleat dress accented with fishnet stockings. Suzanne selects the ever-popular plaid kilt, with the new twist of the kilt sweater and tassled kilt socks. Lori will attend Northside Elementary School, while Suzanne is a student at St. Francis School.

TOPS CAMPUS: The University's new $3,200,000 11-story Physics-Astronomy Building, shown here nearing completion, is exceeded in height only by Burton Memorial Tower in the U-M campus area. The 247-by-218-foot structure already appears to top the campus scene when viewed form a distance at various city locations. It will contain offices, laboratories and classrooms of the two departments.
