SIGNS FOR THE NATION: Street signs make up a large portion of business at the Michigan Woodcraft Co. at 1906 Packard Rd. After dipping the signs in black paint three times, the letters are rolled white twice and given a ground glass coating for illumination. Here, Norman Downing is seen applying the white paint.
