STOLEN CAR HIT NINE TIMES: This is the 1957 Thunderbird which State Troopers Darl P. Dygert (right) and Earl H. Fink of the Ypsilanti post fired at 11 times early today after the stolen car ran Dygert down. Nine bullets peppered the car, with one blowing out a front tire and another smashing through the windshield. Two men and a blond-haired woman in the sports car were still being sought at noon. Other bullets pierced the dashboard and sunvisor, but no blood was found.

STATE POLICE GRAVES DECORATED: All graves of deceased Michigan State Police officers in the state were decorated today with individual Michigan flags. The traditional Memorial Day custom was carried out this morning in Ypsilanti by Sgt. John J. (Mickey) Mongiat, commander of the MSP detachment there, who placed state flags on the graves of two former officers. Here he pauses at the grave of Sgt. Jess B. Ralph, a retired former commander of the Ypsilanti detachment who died two years ago, while Trooper Earl H. Fink salutes.
