FIREMEN BATTLE FLAMES AFTER CRASH: Two Walled Lake teen-agers suffered only minor injuries yesterday afternoon when their car, out of control, skidded into a ditch and overturned on Ten Mile Rd. at Wood Rd. in Oakland county. South Lyon firemen, not sure all of the car's occupants had escaped, pour chemicals on the blaze. Freddie Vanderpool, 18, and his 15-year-old companion, Joyce Parks, were treated by a South Lyon physician. Vanderpool's stepfather bought the 1949 car Saturday.

BLAZE KILLS 125 PRIME EGG-LAYERS: Laying hens - 125 of them, valued at $375 - were destroyed this morning when flames leveled a large chickenhouse on the Kingsley farm, three and a half miles south of South Lyon on the Dixboro Rd. Prompt action by South Lyon firemen saved adjacent buildings from the wind-fanned blaze. Origin of the fire was not determined, but defective wiring was thought to have been a possible cause.
