NEW OATH OF ALLEGIANCE PLAQUE FOR COURTHOUSE: A new plaque bearing the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States, replacing the old one which merely pledged "allegiance to my country," was presented to the county by the Sarah Caswell Angell chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution last night at "commencement" ceremonies for newly naturalized citizens at the courthouse last night. The plaque was presented by Mrs. C. A. Thomas (left), regent of the D.A.R. chapter, to Mrs. Luella M. Smith (right), county clerk, who acted for Circuit Judge W. Sample, Judge Sample was unable to attend the ceremonies.
