The agency supplied a list of names of needy families for gifts of turkeys. U High students collected money in their homerooms to purchase the birds which were first presented at a school assembly.

The donated bikes have a total value of around $20,000. The donations by Honda were part of a nationwide effort by the company to assist in the training of future motorcycle mechanics, and to encourage participation by students in competitions sponsored by the Vocational-Industrial Clubs of America (VICA).
