Contra Protest - Ann Arbor Police Capt. Kenneth Klinge warns protesters of possible arrests for trespassing during a demonstration Thursday at U.S. Rep. Carl Pursell's Ann Arbor office. The protesters rallied against Pursell's support request for aid to Nicaraguan Contras. There were no arrests, as protesters spent most of the day outside as the building was locked and barricaded from inside. Pursell aide Cynthia Hudgins came outside to speak to the protesters and was then blocked from re-entering the building. Police were unavailable for comment this morning on why they left Pursell's empty office to the protesters rather than making the threatened arrests.
