Among the scarce and out-of-print books on cooking and gastronomy in Jan Longone's collection is "The New England Yankee Cookbook," and one of the best and easiest recipes from it is the "Original Injun' Puddin'," she says. The pineapple on the table, she adds, was a symbol of hospitality in the period this book refers to.
