MEET STATE CHAMPIONS TONIGHT: Shown above is the Pfeiffer Beer team of Ann Arbor that will oppose the Lansing Vans under the lights at Wines Field tonight in a game starting at 8:30. The Lansing team won the state girls' softball title last season, but the Ann Arbor team has divided two games with the champions this season. Lansing won the first game, 16 to 10 with Ann Arbor taking the second contest, 8 to 4. STAR OF GIRLS' LEAGUE: Bessie Gagalis, above, will be stationed at shortstop for the Pfeiffer girls tomorrow night at Wines Field when the team clashes with Edwards Brothers in the first game of a play-off series to decide the girls' city softball championship. Bessie may also take her turn on the pitcher's mound if the Edwards girls find Katie Wares' windmill offerings to their liking.
