WAYNE CCC BOYS BACK FOR MORE: In last year's Ann Arbor Golden Glove tournament the CCC boys from Wayne provided fans with some of the outstanding battles in the competition. This year the Wayne CCC will have a large representation here, a squad of 10 boys working out several nights a week at the Armory here. Shown above are four of the CCC boys who are expected to go far in their respective divisions. Left to right, the sturdy and determined looking battlers are Gus Herzog, flyweight; Arthur George, lightweight; Herman Pacione, welterweight and Wilmour Hermanek, middleweight. All are novices and this will be their first tournament.

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO TAKE A POKE IN THE JAW? Tom Root, Ann Arbor novice light heavyweight, is shown taking it on the chin, and how! Stanley Czinski of Ypsilanti has located his mark with a straight left. Root's eyes are closed, his head rocked to one side. Referee Perry Schad is an interested spectator. This blow on the jaw didn't stop Root from coming back to decision Czinski in one of the best bouts fought last night in the Golden Glove tournament at the Armory.
