DELHI SCHOOL PUPILS LEAD IN READING PROJECT: Everyone of the 23 pupils of the Delhi school has won a county reading certificate, given to students who have read and reported on at least 15 books. Some of the Delhi pupils have read as many as 100 books, and the school is one of the outstanding in the county in the use of the circulating county library. Shown in this picture is one of the school's two cases of books containing more than 600 volumes. Miss Mildred Walsh has been the teacher at Delhi for 15 years, and her pupils are: Jeannette Schlimmer, Betty, Edward and Robert Darr, Shirley and Gloria Marsh, Gerald and Betty Smith, Margaret Allen, Norwin Braun, Eloise, Jane and Garnet Hudson, Jack Welch, Jean Dick, Betty Jean Wallenhaupt, William Downer, Wesley and Sarah Bommer, Donald Backus, Patricia Pingston and James Stotts.

Students of the Lyndon Center school, N. Territorial and Chelsea roads, form lines daily, at the noon hour, to take turns at washing their hands and receiving generous ladlings of hot soup from one of their classmates. The line shown at the top includes, left to right: Anna Campbell, Melissa Balmer, Virginia Barton, Harold Balmer, Robert Shanahan, Melvin Stofer, Valentine Krokowiak, Robert Kresko and John La Chance. At the rear is the teacher Miss Elaine Boyce who believes that cleanliness and proper diet should have a prominent place in the curriculum of the school, in country as well as in city, and she makes the best of limited facilities in the school room.
