WILL SING SATURDAY: This "living, singing Christmas tree" - an 80-member choral group from Slauson Junior High School (top) - will be on-stage at the Community Christmas Sing at 7 p.m. Saturday at Hill Auditorium. The Sing will feature pageants, vignettes and organ music besides choral and community singing. Some 5,000 persons are expected to turn out for the Sing, which is costing $1,300 to put on. This vignette (below), called "Maker of Dreams," is one of several that will be staged. Participants are Jan Gruber, Suzanne Smith (standing) and Kriss Ann Miller (kneeling).

They will present one of the five "scenes," others to include a "singing Christmas tree," a story-telling time, a Santa theme, and the Nativity scene. Miss Merlyn L. Kellogg, public schools' vocal and instrumental instructor, who first directed the program nine years ago, will again be the director.
