For Gelman Instrument: Steel work is completed, the roof is in place and brick work is going on at the Gelman Instrument Company's new, $250,000 office-factory at 600 W. Wagner Rd. in Scio township. Completion is expected in May. Gelman now employs 34 persons in facilities in Chelsea. The firm expects to have up to 150 employees and gross sales of $15,000,000 a year within the next five years. The new office-factory is on 20 acres and contains 12,000 square feet. Manufacturing will consist mainly of assembly operations, a Gelman spokesman said.
