AWARDED FIRST AID CERTIFICATES: Rev. and Mrs. H. L. Peden, the former of whom is pastor of the Ann Arbor Seventh Day Adventist church, are shown here receiving Red Cross certificates for completion of first aid courses from Dr. Charles S. Rife of University hospital, one of the instructors for the course. The ceremony took place last night in the garden of the home of Mrs. Walter V. Peoples in Saline. Standing at the extreme left is Dr. Vernon S. Dick of University hospital, another instructor, and at the extreme right is Miss Josephine Davis, secretary of the Washtenaw county chapter of the Red Cross. Other members of the class of 26 from the Ann Arbor church who received certificates are shown in the background.
