Sapphire Brings Award: The bi-level four bedroom Sapphire model home in Ann Arbor Woods subdivision this week was cited by American Home magazine. The plaque is in the hands of Joseph Slavik, president of Slavik Builders, Inc., subdivision developers. With him are (from left) Warren G. Agry, a vice-president of the magazine; John E. Swisher, Jr., are Stewart E. Butts, both of whom are sales agents for the subdivision.

ANN ARBOR DOG WINS FIRST PRIZE: This 11-month-old cocker spaniel, "Let's Play" won first place in the American bred black female class at the dog show sponsored by the Jaxon Kennel Club of Jackson. Owned by Mr. and Mrs. Harold G. Ristine, 580 Allison Dr., Ann Arbor, the dog was shown by Don Webb of Ypsilanti (above), handler and trainer. Let's Play was sired by Rennard's First Chance of Plymouth, and her dam is Lady In Red VI, owned by the Ristines.

They are: First row - Robert Henning, South Lyon; Dealoris Steel, Bridgewater; Janet Ticknor, Pittsfield; and Lucy Steeb, Ann Arbor township; middle row - Loren Koengeter, route 2, Chelsea; George McKim, jr., Superior township; Mary Tait, Salem township; Virginia Frederick, route 5, Ann Arbor; and Margaret Haas, route 5, Ann Arbor; and back row - Russell McCalla, Pittsfield township; and Jean Nimke, Ann Arbor township. Another delegate, Mary Sullivan, of Lyndon township, was not present when the picture was taken Monday at the Union.

SOUTH LYON GIRL FIRST IN CANNING: Faith J. McCrory, attractive 16-year-old South Lyon girl, is Michigan's official canning delegate at the 17th annual National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago this week. She was chosen as Michigan's "most worthy club member in canning projects," and she is shown with a few of the products with which she has won numerous prizes.
