Jones School Fourth Graders Serve First Graders Traditional French Breakfast, June 5, 1964 Photographer: Doug Fulton

1964
Published In:
Ann Arbor News, June 5, 1964

Petit Dejeuner: The fourth grade French class at Jones Elementary School treated a group of first graders to a French breakfast this morning. On the menu were the foods which a French child typically eats for breakfast- bread and hot chocolate. Supervising the affair were Miss Marilyn Cogan, Mrs. Jane Steeb and Lloyd Gutknecht, teachers. There was a catch in it for the fourth graders-they would go hungry if they did not ask for their servings in French. The first graders entertained their hosts by singing two French songs. Pictured here are (from left) Brenda Fortson, Julie Moore, Phyllis Huell (serving cocoa), Tom Thomas and Mary Stewart.
