Double Blessing: The Byzantine art of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church forms the setting for a double blessing of the infant twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Tziahanas of 2160 Georgetown. The twins, George Theodore and Peter Chris, held by the Rev. Fr. John S. Kamelakis received the Forty Day Blessing in ceremonies last week. The ceremony, in keeping with the Old Testament, was adhered to by Mary when she brought the infant Jesus to the Temple to be presented to the Lord. In keeping with that ancient custom, all Greek Orthodox mothers present themselves and their baby to the church. Father Kamelakis said this is the first blessing of twins performed in recent years in the Ann Arbor church. Also witnessing the ceremony are Mary Jane, 2 1/2 and Becky Ann, 4 1/2, the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Tziahanas. Reminiscing, Father Kamelakis said in Detroit he officiated at the blessing of triplets.
