Emmett Cox (left) and Carl Carter, second graders in Mrs. Jean Kelsey's Bach School class, put the finishing touches on their "Big Fat Pumpkin Man." The youngsters' Halloween friend was a class project and the subject of the following poem, entitled "The Big Fat Pumpkin Man," which was composed by the class: Mr. Pumpkin Man From Pumpkin Town; He's so fat he must sit down. We think he's jolly full of fun; On Halloween night he can't make us run.

Among the haunted house's guests were Anne Stevenson and her friend, 14-month old Finn Magoon, both of Ann Arbor, who were studying tombstones but appeared oblivious to the ghost lurking in the background. The frightful, yet child-friendly Halloween event also had spooky music and films.
