A recent local Aging In Place conference emphasized many services for seniors some of which they weren’t aware of. One such resource was the Housing Bureau For Seniors, part of the University of Michigan Health System. The Housing Bureau For Seniors provides services to help keep residents 55 years of age and older in their own homes. Their
Elderly Eviction Prevention program
is set up to prevent homelessness for seniors who live in rental property.

The United Way’s 2-1-1 number for information and referrals to human services was another resource that well received. Over 700 agencies are in their databases and they give referrals to people in Livingston, Monroe, and Washtenaw counties.
