WHERE SCRAP RUBBER PILES MOUNT SCALES ARE NEEDED: Mrs. Paul R. Kempf, wife of State Rubber Salvage Committeeman Kempf provides a good example for other city and county residents who are being asked to loan scales to filling stations acting as collection agents in the current rubber salvage drive. Mrs. Kempf is shown handing a pair of scales from her home to L.-Col. Harold A. Furlong, state defense council administrator, who visited Ann Arbor briefly yesterday morning. Looking on at the right is Mr. Kempf while the Kempf's daughter, Patricia, and Edwin J. Huntington, newly-named county scrap rubber committee chairman, are shown at the left.
