All The Same? By No Means: The mild form of front yard advertising by which the city's churches identify themselves, their pastors, hours of worship and anything else they think pertinent is confined to a "bulletin board." That there is as much diversity as there is in these rectangular limits surprised photographer, church editor, and perhaps readers of the News as well.

Memorial Christian Church Christmas Shoppers Baby-Sitters Group, December 1948
Year:
1948
Published In:
Ann Arbor News, December 15, 1948
Caption:
Church Group Acts As Baby-Sitters - Christmas shopping can be a hectic affair in families where there are small children, but at least one Ann Arbor organization has found a way to make it relatively painless. The Young Married Couples' Club at Memorial Christian Church conducts a nursery at the church where members can leave their youngsters on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons while mother and dad shop for the makings of a happy Christmas morning. Here Mrs. John Blanchard (Standing, left) and Mrs. F. E. Zendt, wife of the pastor (standing, right) return from the stores to collect their offspring. Around the table are (left) Mrs. Lucille Van Manen, who is in charge of the group, her daughter Bonnie, Mrs. Arthur W. Swann, Steven Zendt, David Blanchard, and Virginia Zendt, who turned her back to the photographer to inspect a likely looking package.
