PERCHERON EXPERT APPROVES HUNTER CHOICE: Ellis McFarland, secretary-treasurer of the Percheron Horse Association of America, is shown here with one of the latest additions to E. A. Hunter's great herd of percherons at Dhu Varren Farms, north of Ann Arbor. The horse is Caroline 217877, the reserve grand champion mare at the 1936 International exposition. She was purchased recently by Mr. Hunter from C. F. Curtis of Ames, Iowa, and is by Oak Forest Echo, 183540 out of Winnie, 196848, a descendant of Carnot. Mr. McFarland took pictures of a number of the Dhu Varren percherons, and he plans to use some of them in the association's year book of outstanding horses of the United States.
