Mayerson of Bending Dr. The feminine fund raiser originally comes from Switzerland where women do not have the voting privilege.

At the kick-off breakfast for the League of Women Voter's annual finance drive Monday morning Dr. Robert Aldrich hands a finance kit to his wife (right) while Mrs. Joe Morris, finance chairman, wishes her good luck. Dr. Aldrich is a member of the League's first men's advisory committee. The men joined regular members to help assemble work kits for volunteers who will be making solicitations for funds throughout the community this week. This year the League's goal is $5,000.

The League designated Wednesday as its finance drive day and set up headquarters in the Ann Arbor Public Library. Members will, however, accept donations at any time. From the left are Mrs. Alfred F. The financial drive helps support League of Women Voters' programs encouraging the informed participation of citizens in government.

If you received a chocolate-smudged letter in connection with the annual finance drive of the Ann Arbor League of Women Voters, think nothing of it. It was just that a little pleasure probably mixed in with business as Boy Scouts of Troop 30, Dixboro, munched brownies as they helped address and stuff envelopes for the drive. Some of the boys who participated are shown above.

TIMES HAVE CHANGED - When the local League of Women Voters first sought outside donations in 1942, its president and treasurer were nearly "blown out of the office" of the local Republican party chairman, who insisted they should be home washing diapers. Today, the League's annual finance drive is carefully planned by members of its finance committee and community leaders. Meeting at Hathaway's Hideaway from left are Barbara Dankert, Pat Pawelski, Susan Westerman, John Hathaway and Rosemarian Blake.
