Swimming Pool-Gymnasium: Electric folding doors will shut off the swimming pool from the gymnasium and divide the gym into play areas for boys and girls, when installed. When completed "sometime next March," the pool will be used for intramural and interscholastic events. The gym will seat up to 5,000 persons. Extensive use of the pool is anticipated by Ann Arbor residents, who will be urged to swim for pleasure or under an instructional program.

"The city's new pools have been a long time coming, and the weather has been a long time getting hot the way summer should, but it looks as if it's all coming together now. First pool to open was Buhr Park., shown in the pictures here, and if everything goes just right - equipment works, no leaks and no unplanned for happenings - the parks department will open the other two pools (Veteran's Park and Fuller Road) with a bang on the Fourth of July. Meanwhile city youngsters have been enjoying a "wet run" at Buhr- splashing in the water, sunbathing and card-playing on the spacious deck, diving off the high boards. So the rest of you water lovers get set for the next weekend. The lifeguards are ready to go, the water is fine. Come join us."
