STOCKBRIDGE YOUTH HIGH IN FARM ACTIVITIES: Donald Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Smith, route 3, Stockbridge, was elected state treasurer of Michigan Future Farmers at the recent state F. F. A. convention in East Lansing, and he's really a practical farmer. He was planting potatoes when this picture was taken on the Smith farm.

Chelsea Youths Take State Titles: Members of Chelsea High school's Future Farmers chapter won state championships in potato and dairy judging at the recent state FFA convention, it was learned during the past week. Their instructor and adviser, Roy Wallis, is shown at the left and the tree boys nearest him were members of the champion dairy judging team, while the three at the right were potato judging champions. From left to right, back row, are Veryl Haflay (?), ? Merkel, Francis Hafner, Robert Swartzmiller and Warren Hoover. Standing in front with Mr. Wallis is Max Hepburn. Merkel won first place in the state in individual dairy judging, and Hepburn placed third.
