Anatomy Of A Puppet: To create an intricate, lively puppet from a block of pine, yards of string and bits of metal, leather and cord requires a talent that few possess. Meredith Bixby has such a talent. He has crafted over 100 puppets which are characters in the eight puppet shows he's produced. Here the artist-craftsman compared the puppet he's making with a proposed sketch. Bixby started college as an engineering major.

Puppets' Couturiere Meredith Bixby's wife, Thyra, is not what you would call a "silent partner" in his puppet business. Besides helping her husband with the book work and lending her voice when sound tracks are being taped, Thyra also sews all of the puppets' costumes.
