Humane Society Director Lee Kvarnberg admires sign presented to him by Dog Club members Denise Youngman (from left), Chris Colaner, Kathey Snedeker (rear) and Susan Rupp. The club earned and donated the money for the community service project. Two signs have been constructed but only one erected so far, according to Dee Youngman, coordinator of the project and 4-H leader. The society is located at 3100 Cherry Hill Rd. It was a long, cold night for a small dog that apparently fell into an excavation on Londonderry Rd. and couldn't get out. Herbert Gay of the Washtenaw Humane Society was called this morning, and rescued the animal with the aid of a special padded noose on the end of a long pole.
