Block Check: Lt. H. G. Schlupe, head of the Ann Arbor Police Department Traffic Bureau, checks the string of plastic blocks which have been laid for a crosswalk at Ann and Main Sts. The two round discs visible near the blocks are metal pieces which were used in former years to mark the cross-walk. Summer heat and heavy traffic have shifted these two discs some distance from their original line.
