Football Team Dresses Up, Tappan Junior High, November 1972 Photographer: Cecil Lockard

Ann Arbor News, October 16, 1973

Clothes may not make the man but Tappan Junior High School football players stand out in the school corridors on football game days. Team members, ninth graders, dress in suit coats and ties while their classmates stick with casual dress. Football players are Jeff Koh, front row left, Mike Mueller; Robert Matthews, second row left, Paul Weber and Ben Slote. Dressed more casually are Robert Kesslering, Jamie Kenney, Ginny Waldrop, Eddie Tucker, David Diegel and Jennifer Coon. When asked why the school's ball clubs maintain the tradition of dressing up for games, Don Horning, physical education teacher, says the players are able to set an example for others, take pride in themselves and stand out from the rest of the group.
