STRANGE TRAVELERS ON MAIN STREET: Happily accompanied by a friendly dog, plus assorted handlers dressed in clown costumes, is this huge and fearsome dragon. Some mothers who did not do some preliminary explaining about the Michigras parade soon found that they had a crying child or children on their hands, because of the impressive fantasy of the large rubber figures.

A WHITE BLACKOUT: Light reflections from neon signs at the Cahow drug store, 213 S. Main St. clearly outlined the buildings (shown above) on the west side of the 200 block on Main St. during last night's 15-minute blackout. All the stores on the west side of the street had been blacked out in accordance with the city defense council order, but they were rendered visible by the light reflected from the drug store signs across the street.
