Local Bell Telephone Co. employes contributed more than $150 to purchase gifts for wounded veterans of Korean fighting convalescing at Percy Jones Hospital in Battle Creek. Loading the gifts, to be delivered tomorrow, are telephone company employes Carl W. Jaeger (right) of 4110 Dexter Rd. and Floyd Steers of 8303 W. Huron Dr. Each package contains cigarets, candy, stationery and other assorted items.

To Make England Even Merrier: Members of Eberwhite School's Junior Red Cross Council package Christmas toys for shipment to youngsters at the Marlboro Rd. primary school at Salford, England, as Miss Lillian Moore (extreme left,) an exchange teacher from that school, assists. Mrs. Margaret Matteson, an Eberwhite teacher, is teaching the fourth grade at the English school. Looking on as the gifts are placed in a Christmas stocking is Betsy Scher (second from left), a teacher at Eberwhite, and (left to right) Gerald Gibson, 10, Louise Bell, 10, and Sherrie Omerso, 7. The gifts were bought with donations made by Junior Red Cross members.
