One of Ann Arbor's historical landmarks- Cobblestone Farm- was the setting this weekend for a holiday festival representing life during the mid-1800s. Far left, two visitors pet a horse pulling a carriage. Carriage rides were offered to anyone who wanted a ride back to the parking lot or just a trip around the grounds. Near left, the Country Mouse, played by David Parks Williams (complete with whiskers and mouse ears on his top hat), reads a story to Jared Harless, 6, and brother Ben, 3.

Medicine bottles and a paint bottle (upper left) were among the artifacts recovered from the chicken coop, which appears to have been a dumping ground for trash from the main house. The Indian artifacts - an unfinished arrowhead and fragments of a clay pipe - were also found there. The butter knife, which had the date 1894 stamped on the back, was found by the horse barn.
