SIDE SADDLE: Mary Ann Bonisteel tries out a side saddle on "Jake" at Huron River Stables. The saddle belonged to the maternal grandmother of Anne MacCarthy, who is a counselor at the stable's day camp, and originally was purchased by Anne's great-grandfather who owned a stable in New Jersey.

HUNT COURSE IN MINIATURE: A current project in the crafts program included in camp activities at Huron River Stables is this mural depicting a miniature hunt course complete with jumps, cedar "trees," hounds and old Reynard himself. Working on the mural are (from left) Mary Hubbard, Lynn Huguelet, Carol Greig, Sue Moody, Lynn Loughner and Debby Conard. The counselor in charge of the craft program is Georgia Price, a student in the University's College of Architecture and Design. Owners and operators of the stable are Mr. and Mrs. James R. Alder Jr.
