Check-Out Time: Dorothy Doss, left, school nurse at Pioneer High School, is taking the suggestion of Lana Cain, right, head librarian at the West Branch unit of the Ann Arbor Public Library, by checking out a number of books. The branch library at 355 N. Maple is scheduled to begin moving March 12 to new quarters in the courtyard of the Westgate Shopping Center off West Stadium Boulevard and Jackson Road. Librarian Cain says if patrons will take out books now and keep them until the new library unit opens April 4, the task of moving will be made easier for her staff.

Open House Sunday - Head Librarian Eileen McGlynn helps a patron at West Branch Public Library. The library, located in the Maple Village Shopping Center, will mark its formal opening Sunday with an open house from 2 until 4 p.m. The program sponsored by the Friends of the Library, will feature music and refreshments and will be open to all. West Branch now has about 10,000 books, half of its projected collection. Over 300 books per day circulated during January and McGlynn said the volume is increasing. The library has books, paperbacks, records and cassettes, newspapers, magazines, circulatinng games and listening and viewing areas for children. (Staff Photo by Jack Stubbs)
