The plaque was carved by Patrolman Al Padilla. Hill, whose father is Police Lt. Richard G. Hill, also received a departmental bravery citation and a valor recognition from the National Police Officers Association. Hill, who recently turned 21, has applied for a job as a uniformed patrolman with Ann Arbor's police force.
